2024 Annual Awards Celebration

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Sunday to honor Kinneret Chiel, Lindy Lee Gold, and Amy Rashba for their work and dedication to our community. These women have each left a lasting mark on New Haven and beyond, and it was inspiring to celebrate their achievements with so many of you who share their passion for making a difference.

Thank you to the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven, the staff of the JCC of Greater New Haven, Chef Adam of A Taste of Eden Milford, and Judy Sirota Rosenthal, who photographed the celebration. This event wouldn’t have been possible without you!

If you couldn’t attend but would like to join us in our mission to preserve the Jewish history of New Haven, become a member today!

Second-Hand Jewish Book Sale

Blue and purple poster for "Festival of books: second-hand Jewish book sale" with clip art of books, a dreidel, and gelt.

Recently, we’ve begun assessing our library of over 1,000 books using our recently updated collection guidelines. Many, many wonderful volumes don’t meet the amended requirements, but we hope to find them new homes. Whether you’re looking to expand your personal Judaica library or need to stock up on Chanukah gifts, stop by the Ethnic Heritage Center on Sunday, December 22, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

What you’ll find:

  • Jewish children’s books
  • Jewish encyclopedias
  • Jewish/Yiddish fiction
  • Jewish humor books
  • Non-fiction books on the history of the Jewish people
  • Hebrew language texts
  • Religious texts and commentaries

All books will cost $1, or you can get a bag of books for $5. There will also be $1 stationery bundles and light refreshments.
