LAUREL FOX VLOCK: PIONEERING HOLOCAUST FILMMAKER

On Sunday, March 3, JHSGNH and the New Haven Museum hosted the Second Annual Judith Ann Schiff Women’s History Program presentation, “Laurel Vlock: Pioneering Holocaust Filmmaker.” Our program gathered materials from several archives and included clips from some of her numerous video interviews and television broadcasts. We were honored to hear from Laurel’s sister, Marian Fox Wexler, and her son, Daniel Vlock, who both shared their memories and insightful reflections on Laurel’s life and legacy.  We had nearly 100 attendees, many of whom were and continue to be inspired by Laurel’s dedication, openness to new experiences, and deep love for her Jewish community.
